Home Suite Hope is grateful to Bell Canada for adding fun to summer adventures for our single-parent families.
Bell kicked off the season by donating a bevy of colourful backpacks to HSH. The donation was followed by a drop off of basic needs items -hygiene, cleaning and household
Items. These items are usually some of the more costly on the grocery shopping list and budget. The donations mean that a little bit of cash was freed up for our families to put to pressing uses or give parents the means to buy a summer treat for their kids, maybe an ice cream treat or admission to a summer attraction.
Bell’s generosity didn’t end there, either. A donation was made so those colourful backpacks could be filled with summer fun. Everything from Frisbees and jump ropes to bubbles and Play Doh made the shopping list and subsequently the backpacks.
An added bonus was the additional of gift cards for transportation costs thanks to HSH’s summertime Running on Empty campaign. The funds targeting transportation costs including gas are welcome by our parents whether it helps them get to the grocery store, a meeting with their HSH counsellor or to school, be it summer school or saved for the fall start of classes.
HSH sends a sincere thank-you to Bell and its employees for helping make the summer brighter for our families. We also thank those who supported our Running on Empty campaign, including donors who stepped up to fulfill the campaign's matching challenge at the time it was launched. There's still time to donate, too, through CanadaHelps
Thank you!
