Are you ready to fill your bowl with tasty soups from local restaurateurs?
It's that time of year again and Home Suite Hope's popular annual fundraiser, Empty Bowls, is back Sunday, Nov. 6.
After two years of serving up a delivery model version of our signature fundraiser, HSH is returning to an in-person format. This year Empty Bowls will be hosted by St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School in Oakville. We thank the members of the St. Mildred’s School community for their support as our venue sponsor.
Once again, The Taylor Group is the presenting sponsor and as always, we appreciate the sponsorship.
Other sponsors include Bell Canada at the Gold Ladle level and Fiera Capital Foundation and Cogeco as Silver Sponsors. The event's Bronze sponsors include Detailsguys.ca, Shiavone Diamond, Capstick McCollum and Rina DiRisio of Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd.
We would be remiss not to thank LaRose Specialty Foods & Fine Italian Bakery and DaleyGlam Decor Inc. as our Gift Basket sponsors and Starbucks as our coffee sponsor.
We are now announcing our soup and bread sponsors.
Every year we thank COBS Bread Lakeshore for providing the tasty bread provided to our patrons to dip or to munch on as they sample their soup.
Our menu this year will include fare from Montfort Mediterranean Cuisine, Dana Hospitality, Burlington Culinary Experiences, Kerr St Cafe, The Green Eatery, Caribbean Vibes, No One Goes Hungry and Hearthstone Communities Services Limited.
Desserts will also be provided thanks to the support of Sobeys, Metro, Longo's, Fortinos, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Valet Marketing.
Attendees will be able to select a hand-painted ceramic bowl in which they can sample the variety of soups available and also take the bowl home as a souvenir.
Finally, we thank Crack Pot Studio and Sheridan College - as well as all those who helped us paint bowls donated to the event.
Empty Bowls, which is fashioned after a soup kitchen format, is a means for HSH to raise funds for the support services it offers to single-parent families as they move from homelessness or precarious housing to stability over the four-year Homeward Bound Halton program. This program stabilizes the families in housing and provides support and facilitates academic upgrading before the parents take on a two-year post-secondary education followed by job search, which again is supported through HSH.
Thank you to all of those who purchase tickets for our event and for those who’ve committed to be sponsors. We couldn’t achieve the success we do in moving single-parents in need in our community of Halton to stability without your support.
Tickets are on sale now for the 14th Empty Bowls, presented by The Taylor Group, to be held in-person Nov. 6, 2022 at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School.
